R&G社製の色鮮やかなコンパクトの１つで、小ぶりですがインパクトがあります。赤と黒、そして金のレリーフがモダンな印象です。アステカやエジプトなどの古代文明の発掘から影響を受けた八角形は、アールデコの重要なモチーフでした。

This is another of the vividly colored compacts made by Ripley & Gowen (R&G). Though small in size, it has larger-than-life visual impact with its red background, and black and gold relief rim, which affords it a modern look. The octagonal shape reflects the influence of artifacts from excavations of Aztec, Egyptian and other early civilizations, and was a key Art Deco motif.
